Chef Bagus Cook-off challenge 2013 ~ Marriot Hotel

I would like to dedicate this post to my future grand children and so on......, enabling them to know  what their grand mother  has been through during her golden era.

Since my inaugural live cooking contest by Lady's Choice,  and subsequent  Cornell Cooking Contest, my confidence of live cooking has built up.  I could still remember my hands were trembling during my 1st cooking contest.  LOL.... 

On the Marriott Hotel's  Chef Bagus challenge, six finalists were chosen to compete for the Chef Bagus Cook-off Challenge 2013 LIVE at Marriot Hotel, Putrajaya on the 4th July 2013 (Thursday)
The contestants had to prepare 2 recipes  with 2 different main ingredients within 1½ hrs.  We were required to prepare 2 sets for each of the dishes; one for the judges to taste, another for display/photography.
The contest is somehow similar to the "Iron Chef" concept as no clue was given for the two main dishes prior to the contest day!    Phewwwww............  Stresssss  lo.....

Nevertherless, it was a fun and challenging event for all the 6 contestants.  I personally would like to say A BIG THANK YOU to MARRIOTT HOTEL, PUTRAJAYA for organizing the event.  BRAVO! 

The recipes of the 3 winners were prepared by chef of Marriott Hotel  to showcase  at their Ramadan Buffet 2013 promotion.

I won the 1st Runnerup prize, a flight ticket for a 3D/2N stay for two in Miri Marriot Resort and SPA, Sarawak. Thank you Marriott Hotel!  

Cornell Cooking Contest Grand Final ~ 25th May 2013

 Chanced upon Cornell Malaysia's "Your recipe with Love'  Facebook contest sometimes in November 12 and managed to submit my entries with 2 days before the submission closed.
Since then, there is no turning back although went through 2 rounds of stress to 'beg' for votes. 

Cornell Malaysia Sdn Bhd organized this  Cooking Competition with the theme - Your recipe With Recipe with Love II running for a period from September 2012 till January 2013.  This was a Cornell Facebook Programme where the participants competing in 4 rounds of food photos voting.  Finally,  9 finalists were chosen to battle on a live cooking competition helon 25th May 2013.  I was lucky to be among one of the finalists -  Pheewww!    Sweetttt.......
Our famous Celebrity Dato Chef Wan was the sole judge.   The Grand final of the Live Cooking Competition was held at Paradigm Mall, concourse Square, Petaling Jaya, Selangor.

The finalist were to prepare two dishes  -  A salad as a starter  and another with the theme 'Mix Culture". 

Tadaaaaa!  And the Grand Prize winner is ..............

   Champion of the Day!

As a wife/mother of 3 grown up children,  Satisfaction and contended are the rewards knowing family member enjoyed the food I prepared.  It never crossed my mind, by doing so for years will bring me to another level in my culinary  journey with unexpected rewards!  I found no words  to describe the joy and excitement I am experiencing now.

Your Recipes with love II” Cornell Cooking Competition is the Final stage of Cornell Facebook program, total 4 Rounds of Games. 9 winners have successfully won out by the highest votes.  This program is for people to show up the unique cooking skills and an opportunity to meet their Idol Chef-Dato’ Chef Wan in person. Cornell is providing a platform for all the Cornell Fans to shine and glow on the stage, together with Dato’ Chef Wan. Lady's Choice Recipe challenge Cook-Off Grand Finale

October 2012 has been an exiting and eventful month for me, It not only mark the 2nd Anniversary of my blogging journey, free and easy holiday trip to Sydney, Australia with buddy Bee Ling.  Hope I will be able to write on Australia trip at a later date.

But the most unexpecting and interesting is the  Lady's Choice Healthy Easting Campaign, which I was chosen as one of the 5 finalists for the grand finale of Lady's Choice Recipe Challenge Cook-off contest.
