Fusion Feast at Home Sweet Home

Fusion Feast of East Meets West and West meets East at the comfort of home sweet home with buddies on a   lazy Sunday afternoon 14th April 2013.

This photo was shot in a hurry as everybody is hungry can't wait any longer de!  ^_^

I have been busying in the kitchen alone since morning  to dish up these dishes for my buddies to enjoy.

The dishes are -

1.  The clam and corn chowder

2.  Garlic French toast

3.  Japanese Okonomiyaki  (お好み焼き)

4.  Carolline Seaweed Mango Kerabu (Salad)

5.  Sesame Ogura Cake  ( Baked a day before)

The clam and corn chowder  

Since my 1st attempts for this chowder, my family will graving for it every now and then.  They love Chowder.   The post is here to share!  


  • 1 1/2 tbsp of butter
  • 1  chopped big onions ( the white type of big onion)
  • 3 tbsp flour
  • 1 cup of  chicken stock)
  • 2 medium-sized potatoes, peeled  cleaned and cubed
  • Fresh sweet corn kernels  from one stalk of corn
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp coarsely ground black pepper
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2  cup cream
  • 1 cup clams, cleaned 
  1. Melt butter in a pan.
  2. Saute  the onions till aroma and transparent.
  3. Put in the flour, stir till combined.
  4. Pour in the water gradually, then put in the cubed potatoes and carrot.
  5. Season with salt, pepper.
  6. Cook covered on medium fire for 15 minutes or till potatoes almost done add in the sweet corn.
  7. Reduce the heat and pour in the milk and  cream.
  8. Lastly, put in the clams and cook for a further 5 minutes.
  9. Do not allow the Clam Chowder to boil. Just allow it to heat through.
  10. Serve with garlic  bread or  crackers!

Garlic Toast with DIY garlic spread

Bought A loaf of French Loaf from bakery shop and cut into slices and spread with my very own Garlic Spread and bake in the oven slightly golden brown.

Japanese Okonomiyaki  (お好み焼き)  =  Japanese Pizza

You can use any ingredient of your choice for this Japanese Oknomiyaki.  This round I used shredded Pumpkin, prawns, cabbages,  eggs  and big onion.  As for the recipe please refer my earlier post here.  

 Carolline Seaweed Mango Kerabu (Salad)

    Everything looks so delicious at your fusion feast. I'm admiring your orgura cake as mine is ok but not as perfect as yours. I hope to master more of my orgura cake baking by learning lots of variations from yours.
